DEVELOPING DIAMOND GROWTH FOR QUANTUM TECHNOLOGIES
Controlling Impurity Distribution and Quality of Crystal
This project will develop diamond growth processes in response to the need for diamond with a controlled distribution and concentration of impurities - like nitrogen. This project dovetails with efforts by the MSU Quantum Research Group, MSU-Q, to advance MSU research in quantum science and technology. Diamond grown in this study will be sent to our collaborator, Dr. Dantus, for activation of optically-active vacancy complexes in the nitrogen containing areas of grown diamonds.
