Enabling Sensing in Harsh Radiation Environments
Diamond material is ideally suited for particle detection in harsh radiation environments and event tracking. Projects include:
1. Development of simulation and analysis programs programs to design and test detectors and simulate implantation processes to create defect centers in diamond
2. Design, fabrication, and testing of fast neutron detectors in collaboration with the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams.
3. Development of in-situ annealing routines to restore diamond sensor performance.
